Buon Cibo! Exploring St. Louis' Italian Heritage

Travel to America's Last Little Italy and learn about the history, culture and enjoy a “Taste of The Hill” with local guide, Dea Hoover. We will take you on a virtual tour through the neighborhood, showing you the old with the new, including the Imo's Piazza and fountain.

Before the virtual tour, you will receive a special care package curated for your tour so that you can enjoy not only the sights but also the aroma and the tastes of the Hill! Each item included in your care package holds its own story and will be related to the area of Italy from which it originated and remains most popular. Your care package will contain items that are both savory and sweet; as well as a few spices. Learn about the recently published book and DVD available about the history of The Hill in St. Louis. Deadline to register is October 22. Italian Care Package will be mailed directly to participants. Virtual trip includes care package, shipping, educational seminar, and tour guide gratuity. • Amaretto Macaroon(voted best cookie in STL a few years ago)
• Olive Oil
• Bread Dipping Spice
• Italian salami
• Small bag of pasta
• Licorice (may be substituted)
• Limoncello almonds

You can share the experience or keep all the treats for yourself. Virtual tours also make a great gift or care package for a friend who loves traveling! Contents are planned to be adequate for two participants to share the tour experience. Items will be shipped to your home the week of November 1. You will receive an email with instructions for joining the virtual tour the week of the program. Participants will need a computer or mobile device, sound, and internet connection.
